Accreditation of qualifications for induction to Membership and Fellowship of HKCRRT

Minimum Academic Requirement for Membership:
A recognized Master degree or above in Ultrasonography; OR
A recognized Bachelor degree in medical imaging or related fields or Professional Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography (PDDR) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University or equivalent, plus a Ultrasound specialist qualification recognized by the College; OR
A recognized Master degree in Medical Imaging, Health Care or related fields, plus attained a grade of 75% or above in an examination set by the MII Faculty Committee of HKCRRT.

Clinical Requirements (member):
Cases or duration requirements:- Having had 5 years of post-registration working experience in radiography, medical imaging or radiotherapy and 2 Years working experience of Medical Imaging Informatics Administration
Competency requirements:- The ultrasonographer should be able to carry out the 'STAR¡¦ practice independently:
   S ¡V scanning of patients
   T ¡V taking images of diagnostic quality
   A ¡V abnormality detection and image interpretation
   R ¡V report drafting

Clinical Requirements (fellow):
Cases or duration requirements:-3-year full time equivalent post-specialisation clinical experience in ultrasonography
Competency requirements:- Acknowledgement of completion of the required clinical experience in US by the candidate's supervisor

Continuing Professional Development (CPD):
To remain current with the membership/fellowship accredited, the US specialists should perform at least 300 cases each year and attain at least 45 CPD credits in 3 years, of which 30 credits (or 30 hours of lecture) are relevant to ultrasonography.
